The organization of the work visit to Iasi – Romania of the “ImPuls – Forum für Gesundheit und Prävention e.V.” German Association of Göttingen, for the finalization of the partnership regarding the Grundtvig Project, with a preliminary title “The Healing Communication within the Educational Process during the Life” by the United Women’s Association in partnership with the Seniors Multifunctional Centre and with the Oncology Counseling Centre (2013) Images

United Women’s Association – as a partner of the “Pro Woman” Communal Association of the Ungheni Department, Republic of Moldova – organized the “Successful Women Gala” as a component part of the project “Priorities and Solutions in Promoting the Successful Woman’s Image” that took place at SC Terramold SA of Iasi. The project, made with the help of the German Technical Cooperation Office (GTZ) and the German Federal Ministry for Economical Cooperation and Development, proposed itself to promote the successful women of the two Prut boarders identified after a survey made on a large sample; 24 women with remarkable personal and professional performances were selected: 12 of Ungheni, Republic of Moldova and 12 of Iasi, Romania. The name of these persons were published in the brochure with the same name, where every woman defined the terms of family, carrier and success as implicit parts of their own lives (2007) Article Images /

Participation in the Round-Table on “The Development of the Cross-Borders Cooperation Programmes and Projects” organized by the German Technical Cooperation Office of Kishinev City, Republic of Moldova and the Regional Development and European Integration Agency of Ungheni, Republic of Moldova. On the occasion of this meeting the United Women’s Association was designated a partner of the project “Priorities and Solutions in Promoting the Successful Woman’s Image” (2006) Images

United Women’s Association launched - in Iasi - the project “Europa Donna” – as a partner of S.C. Isimbardi International S.R.L. Kishinev, Republic of Moldova – and organized a Seminary on the ”Local Initiative for the Support of Enterprising Women” that took place at the Iasi County Council. The seminary is part of several seminaries that were organized in collaboration with European partners (Province of Milan, Andalusia Parliament, Institute des Femmes Europeene) of Italy, Russia, Romania, Spain, Poland and France, for the support of the business women and of the women who want to open their own business.

For two days, the Romanian and the foreign partners shared their experience on themes like: Strategies of the European Union in the Promotion of the Equality of Chances. The Communitarian Strategy in Hiring the Woman in the Labour Market.Strategies regarding the Creation of Your Own Business.Business Financing Sources.Active Supporting Policies for the Support of Business Women.Personal Development and Business Mentalities Change. The Enterprising Woman: Which is the Key that Leads to Success?

The seminary gathered women from the three participant countries (Italy, Republic of Moldova and Romania) and they had the opportunity to meet and establish future collaboration relations. In the end, they visited two companies of Iasi, managed by women, thus focusing the attention of the foreign partners on the creative potential of the Romanian partners (2003) Article Images /

Cultural exchanges between the United Women’s Association of Iasi - Romania and the Republic of Moldova represented by a donation of 3072 textbooks for the classes 8 – 11 and 100 belletrist books collected by the "N . Tonitza" Middle School of Iaşi for students of the middle schools of the Ungheni Department – Republic of Moldova (2001)

Cultural exchanges between the United Women’s Association of Romania – Iasi Branch and the Republic of Moldova represented by the organization of trips in Northern Moldavia for students of the Costuleni Middle School, Ungheni Department – Republic of Moldova and students of the Pirlita Middle School, Ungheni Department – Republic of Moldova (1998)

  • One of the objectives of the United Women’s Association is represented by the "Cultivation of the Humanism, Trust and Hope Principles based on the Stimulation of Cultural Dialogue that Contributes in the Diminution of the Discriminations that Separate Women from Men, Nations, Religions, Ideologies etc.” According to these principles, the association’s members participated in a few international workshops.

In Klaffer, AUSTRIA, on the following theme “To Be Healthy in a Society between Generations”

The workshop on the following theme: “To Be Healthy in a Society between Generations“ - is a workshop from Grundtvig that is part of the European Union’s Programme for Mobility and Cooperation in Adult Education financed by the European Union. It took place between November 30th 2012 and December 7th 2012 in Klaffer, Hochficht - AUSTRIA, being organized by the “Kinderfreunde Mühlviertel” Association (www.kinderfreunde.cc).

The participants were selected from 11 countries that were members of the European Union: England, Malta, Greece, the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and a candidate country, Turkey. Romania was represented by Mr. Marian Florea, a volunteer of the United Women's Association of Iasi.

The workshop’s programme comprised the presentation of the concept of active ageing in different European countries reported to the social field and to the jobs. During the workshops the experts approached different subjects regarding the health management on the workplaces making use of different pedagogical tools and methods. At the same time, the organizers had the idea to offer the participants different techniques of practical culinary formation meant to represent a model of maintaining a good health state for as much as possible during the life of the adults who attended the workshop.

For the participants, the intercultural evening represented a chance to socialize as it allowed every country to manifest itself by showing to the others a few elements meant to define its traditional and cultural characteristics.

Mr. Marian Florea, the Romanian representative, stated: “I did not believe that this multinational experience could influence my thinking so that I could accept that I should give up on certain alimentary habits that endanger my health and, even more important, when the situation requires it, to try to influence in a positive manner the wrong perception of those around me regarding the health state, through my attitude. Varna, BULGARIA, theme: “To Add Years to Life and Life to the Years”

Workshopul cu tema “To Add Years to Life and Life to the Years” a fost un atelier de lucru Grundtvig in cadrul Programului de învătare pe tot parcursul vietii finantat de Uniunea Europeană. A avut loc în perioada 6.06–13.06.2011, fiind organizat de “Social Inclusion Agency” din Varna, BULGARIA.(Social-Inclusion-Agency-Bulgaria) Au participat 10 tări membre ale Uniunii Europene: Germania, Rusia, Finlanda, Polonia, Romania, Letonia, Cehia, Slovenia, Lituania, inclusiv Bulgaria si o tară candidată, Turcia.

Romania was represented by Mrs. Ioana Oram and by Ms. Roxana Tătaru, members of the United Women’s Association of Iasi.

The workshop was composed of several modules and has as a theme the personal problems of people over 40 years old: healthy living conditions, specific diseases, recommended food and social integration of persons with different disabilities from the point of view of the European policies of life quality improvement in order to prevent social exclusion. The participants visited rest homes and took guided walks to learn the cultural values of Varna. “The workshop represented a good opportunity of personal development and it had an essential role in increasing our sensitivity as regards the underprivileged categories”, the Romanian participants declared.

Eskisehir – Anatolia, TURKEY, theme: “A New Hobby for Alzheimer Patients from Anatolia”


“A new hobby for Alzheimer patients from Anatolia” was a workshop of Grundtvig, and it was part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union. It took place between June 6th 2011 and June 10th 2011 and it was organized by the “Alzheimer” Foundation of Eskişehir – TURKEY (www.alz.org.tr/). The participants came from 7 countries, members of the European Union: Belgium, Germany, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Estonia and Latvia.

Romania was represented by Mrs. Gabriela Turcu and Mrs. Maria Popa, members of the United Women's Association of Iasi. The workshop programme included the presentation of Alzheimer’s disease symptoms by the specialists (physicians and professors) and the involvement of the guests and sick persons in the making of carpets and accessories (necklaces, ear-rings) with traditional Anatolian patterns, in common workshops. Thos activity is supposed to represent a new hobby for the patients and it could help in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The common work involvement within the workshops represented a good occasion for the participants to know new cultures of other countries.

The workshop offered the Romanian delegation a different perspective regarding the way in which the Alzheimer patients should be approached and treated; we had the pleasure to discover valences of the Turkish culture and civilization and, more than that, the hospitality and receptivity of the Turkish people towards Europe.”

Venice, ITALY , theme: “Creativity and Entrepreneurship in the 3rd Sector” (NGO)

"Creativity and Entrepreneurship in the 3rd Sector" (NGO) was a workshop of Grundtvig and it was part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union. It took place between 23rd and 31st of May 2011, in Venice, Mestre – ITALY, being organized by Format - Formazione Tecnica S.C.A.R.L. www.formazionetecnica.it).

The participants were selected from six countries: Romania, Turkey, Sweden, CzechRepublic, Lithuania and Latvia. Romania was represented by Mrs. Virginia Pralea and by Ms. Carmen Atodiresei and Ms. Oana Trifan, members of the United Women’s Association of Iasi.

The workshop was meant to the persons who perform volunteerism activities in the non-profit sector (NGO). The programme included themes regarding the development of the communication abilities, stressing on team-work and leaders’ assignment, negotiation and conflicts solving, motivation, initiatives and risk management reported to the particularities of the social sector of each country, with the presentation of a personal case of entrepreneurship and creativity. The participation finished with a group activity that involved the creation and presentation of a business plan and the visit to a social organization of Milan called “Aclicoop”.

In the end, the participants visited Venice and its local beauties, and then they gathered for an intercultural evening, experiencing traditional food and customs of the participant countries. ”The professionalism of the entire team and the solid knowledge of the participants regarding the approached themes generated an interesting and innovative change of experience, with personal and professional satisfactions”, the Romanian delegation declared. The workshop reached its goal, which is to allow both the young active persons and the experts to sustain the development and improvement of the human resources”.

Riga, LATVIA, theme: “Universal Design – Accessibility for Everybody”

“Universal Design – Accessibility for Eeveryone” is a workshop of Grundtvig, part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union and it took place between 15.05 and 22.05.2011, in Riga, LATVIA, being organized by the “Apeirons” Association (www.apeirons.lv ), an association activating for the persons with disabilities. The participants were selected from 8 states, members of the European Union: Finland, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Estonia and a candidate country, Turkey.

Romania was represented by Mrs. Petrina Crupa and Mrs. Anca-Cristina Mihalache, members of the United Women's Association of Iasi.

The workshop programme comprised the presentation of the “Universal Design” concept regarding the adaptation to the environment, for daily use, in case of the persons with disabilities. The discussed themes referred to the facility to use the necessities (the adaptation of the lightning units, automatic doors, and automatic restrooms), adapted means of transport and accessibility in public spaces (ramps, elevators, escalators). The workshop also had a practical side, identifying the problematic areas for the persons with disabilities from RigaCity and proposing real solutions.

The Romanian delegation appreciated “the Latvian professionalism and the importance of the subject. The information received from this workshop will be transmitted to the “Motivation” Regional centre of Iasi, whose mission is to develop sustainable programmes meant to improve the quality of life of the persons with disabilities.”

Milan, ITALY, theme: "Women, Creativity and Sustainable Consumption"

"Women, Creativity and Sustainable Consumption" is a workshop of Grundtvig and it is part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union.

Between 8 and 15 of May 2011, Progetto di Espressione e Sviluppo Territoriale (PRODEST) of Milan, ITALY, organized this workshop (www.prodestonline.it)) that enjoyed the participation of representatives selected from 5 countries, which members of the European Union: Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, CzechRepublic and a candidate country, Turkey.

As regards this workshop, Romania sent participants from two great cities, Iasi and Bucharest. Iasi was represented by Mrs. Ligia Melinte and Mrs. Iuliana Voroneanu, members of the United Women's Association. Bucharest was represented by Mrs. Liliana Pagu, Mrs. Tatiana Isoo and Mrs. Paula Safta of the Women’s Association of Romania.

The workshop’s programme developed the following themes: “Causes and Perspectives of the Economical Crisis in Europe”, “Woman’s Role regarding the Economical Crisis”, “Policies and Methods regarding the Equality of Gender in the European Union”, “Creativity and Alternatives for the Consumer”, “Entrepreneurial Creativity: Opportunities and Instruments”, “How to Make a Business Plan”. In the end of the workshop the Iasi delegation organized a traditional evening valorised the Romanian popular garb and culinary products specific for the Moldavian area.

”We appreciated the approached thematic, which had as a main goal the constitution of a support for European women who face major problems regarding their own lives. The interactive character of the workshop helped every participant to valorise their creative potential”, the members of the United Women's Association declared.

Weimar, GERMANY, theme: “Women - Designs for Life after Fifty. Treasure Hunt instead of Searching for Errors”

“Women - Designs for Life after Fifty. Treasure Hunt instead of Searching for Errors” is a workshop of Grundtvig and it is part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union. It took place between 23 an 29 of October 2010 in Weimar–Tiefurt, GERMANY, being organized by ImPuls – Forum für Gesundheit und Prävention eV of Göttingen ( www.impuls-goettingen.de)

The participants were selected from 6 states that are members of the European Union: France, Italy, Finland, Romania, Portugal, Latvia and a candidate country, Turkey. Romania was represented by Mrs. Rodica Mihai and Mrs. Liliana Aluncaritei, members of the United Women’s Association of Iasi.

The workshop programme comprised the presentation of the philosophical and medical concept of “salutogenesis” whose purpose is to help women give priority to the elements that keep them healthy, to the detriment of the factors that cause illness. The participants in the workshops approached interesting subjects that brought a past reality in the present everyday, through specific means: starting from the biographies of important women from the history of Weimar, the participants arrived to their own personal biographies, creating a real “treasures bag” where every participant, with the help of personalized symbols, defined what it was important in their lives. The participants made an incursion to the future, expressing their wishes regarding the third period of their lives so that by nature of their preoccupations they could optimize their health and feel like life is easy to understand, manage and control.

Also, there was an intercultural evening which allowed each country to express and value specific traditional and cultural elements. “I am a new person because I came back from Weimar.”, Mrs. Liliana Aluncaritei, a member of the Romanian delegation, declared.

Weimar, GERMANY, theme: “Women - Designs for Life after Fifty. Treasure Hunt instead of Searching for Errors”

“Women - Designs for Life after Fifty. Treasure Hunt instead of Searching for Errors” is a workshop of Grundtvig, and it was part of the Life-Long Learning Programme financed by the European Union. It took place between November 26th 2011 and December 2nd 2011, in Weimar – Tiefurt, GERMANY, and it was organized by ImPuls – Forum für Gesundheit und Prävention e.V. of Göttingen.(www.impuls-goettingen.de) .

The participants were selected from six countries, members of the European Union: Iceland, Republic of Malta, Estonia, Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria and a candidate country, Turkey. Romania was represented by Mrs. Magda Lupu and Mrs. Elena Florescu, members of the United Women’s Association of Iasi.

The workshop was addressed to women over fifty and its main goal was to find solutions meant to maintain women healthy and active, socially involved, for a period of time as long as possible. Aaron Antonovski’s concept of “salutogenesis” corresponds to this desiderate as it underlines the factors that optimize the feeling of being alive, to the detriment of the feelings that lead to illness and depression. Within the workshop, the meeting programme valorised, as a model to follow, the historical biographies of women of Weimar, and then references were made to the participants’ personal biographies. Each participant presented “the treasures” of her own life, represented through specific symbols.

The future was also taken into account and the ladies were invited to organize the priorities of their lives, taking into account that a good state of health can only be maintained if the relation among mind, body and spirit there is based on harmony and understanding.

The Romanian delegation appreciated the “workshop’s strong impact on the participants through the created emotional state and the professionalism of the lecturers, who knew how to create a special state of spirit in the middle of the participants.
